Multimedia Design

The Advanced Academic course in Multimedia Design aims to teach the techniques and poetics of contemporary artists who work mainly with multimedia installations from the fields of installation to the field of performance, and from technologically sensitive environments to video, digital video and, in general, to expressive fields within languages and communication codes. The goal is to make students acquire the technical, formal and content skills which provide them with creative and critical tools for understanding the current big picture of art and for conscious planning.

The course is based on the development of the design and reading skills of a space, and revolves around the concepts of ‘installation’, a constant presence in the history of art of all times as a modality of dialogue between work and space, and of ‘multimedia’ which implies the simultaneous use of multiple communication and expressive channels, sometimes interactive, each with specific codes and forms of language to harmonize with the others. The course includes both lectures, aimed at transmitting fundamental theoretical elements and operational technical tools, and practical applications, developed through various exercises and a main project theme.

The Multimedia Design expert will be able to work both as a freelancer and in graphic studios, communication agencies, publishing houses, television channels, web agencies in positions such as:
